Hello, friends. I am just two weeks into the launch of my professional astrology practice, Mystic Magnolia Astrology, and already I feel more connected to the cosmos than ever before. I am overcome with immense gratitude to be a guide and interpreter of the planets and their movement through the stars. In the last week I’ve facilitated two Map of the Soul natal chart readings for a new friend and a client who found me on Instagram. Reading for others fills me with purpose and connection, and already the feedback provided by my new friend is helping me finesse my reading style and become a better astrologer for future clients.
As an experiential learner, hello Aries 9th House stellium, theory and intellectual learning must be accompanied by praxis for me to fully integrate my knowledge. Launching my professional practice is a way for me to gain the experience of reading charts for friends, family, and clients while I deepen my studies. I am ecstatic to share a lovely Jupiterian gift I received last week Thursday, on Jupiter’s day no less, in the form of approval for my annual professional development stipend to be used towards Adriana Ayales’ Cosmic Herbalism course!
Adriana Ayales is an herbalist, medicine maker, educator, and founder of Anima Mundi. As an Indigenous woman from Costa Rica, she started Anima Mundi to bring ancient remedies to the modern world. I have been following along with Adriana and Anima Mundi for months and have felt connected to her teachings on the intersections of plant medicine and astrology. In her Cosmic Herbalism course, I am learning about the planets and their relationship to the plant kingdom. I have been hoping to journey down the astrology herbalism path for a while now, and this course is serving as my gateway.
As I have shared in previous writings, capitalism intentionally disconnects and isolates us, not only from one another, but also from our innate connections to the natural world. Capitalism portrays the Earth and her precious resources as inanimate objects to be extracted and exploited for profit. We live in stark contrast to ancient civilizations who revered the rhythms and cycles of Mother Nature, the stars, and planets. Studying astrology helps me shed my capitalist conditioning and nurtures my curiosity of human connections to Earth and sky.
This weekend I felt a profound connection to the cosmos as I was visiting my family in my hometown, a suburb of Milwaukee, where there is barely any light pollution. My childhood home sits on an acre of land with a breathtaking backyard my mom and stepdad have cultivated into a sanctuary and favorite family gathering place. The evening my fiancé and I visited was the one-year anniversary of the passing of our beloved bunny Koko. She was the sweetest being I have ever known, and the love and bond we share transcends space and time. I feel her curious, loving spirit often. Last spring, we buried her in my childhood backyard. Saturday evening as I visited Koko’s resting place and professed my love and gratitude for the six and a half years we shared together on the Earthly plane, the stars and planets twinkled above. I grounded my feet into the Earth and stared in awe and wonder up at the sky. I could see Orion’s belt and from there located Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. I pulled up my Sky Guide app and with its assistance located Jupiter and Mars! Stargazing connects me to my inner child and fills me with joy. Being back in Wisconsin provides me with more opportunities to be present with the cosmos and witness the beauty of the stars.
As I’ve been deepening my understanding of the movement of the planets through the stars, I’ve implemented several practices to integrate my knowledge and ground astrology into my daily life. One of those practices is tracking and contemplating the transits of the week ahead. This has been inspired by two of my favorite astrology podcasts, Astrology of the Week Ahead by Chani Nicholas and Healing the Spirit by Jonathan Koe.
Writing is a powerful outlet for me to reflect on the archetypes of the transits and how they show up for us individually and collectively. Today I humbly introduce a new Flower Moon offering, Celestial Forecast. It is my hope in sharing my weekly reflections of the astrological transits that it may help you connect with the archetypes in a deeper way or better plan for your week ahead. Without further ado, please enjoy this week’s Celestial Forecast!
Celestial Forecast - Week of February 13th
Moon in Sagittarius - February 13th 7:31 PM CST
A yearning for profound experience, an insatiable need to expand our horizons and make meaning out of our experiences and feelings.
Venus conjunct Neptune 24° Pisces - February 15th 6:23 AM CST
Is love fantasy? I don’t think so. Living under Empire, power and dominance are normalized while love is portrayed as elusive and fantasy. Release your conditioning and dream up new worlds where a loving ethic is embraced. Bell Hooks defines the principles of a love ethic as showing care, respect, knowledge, integrity, and the will to cooperate.
Moon in Capricorn - February 15th 11:00 PM CST
A reality check and clarity around how to bring our yearning for profound experiences and dreams for a loving future into physical being.
Saturn Cazimi 27° Aquarius - February 16th 10:42 AM CST
A Cazimi is when a planet is exactly conjunct the Sun and said to be in the heart of the Sun emboldened and fortified. Today we receive clarity and a-ha moments around the lessons we have learned throughout the saga of Saturn in Aquarius which began December 2020 and concludes March 2023. Saturn wants us to integrate the lessons learned by implementing changes necessary for us to grow and flourish. My fellow Saturn in Aquarius natives, our Saturn Returns are nearly complete! Hold on for a few more weeks. We got this!
Mercury 9° Aquarius sextile Jupiter 9° Aries - February 17th 8:10 PM CST
Speak your visions for a better, more loving, equitable world into the universe! A Jupiterian boost will amplify your message and send it far and wide. Contemplate, read, write, listen, learn, and discuss with your co-collaborators and co-conspirators.
Moon conjunct Pluto 29° Capricorn - February 17th 10:17 PM CST
That reality check may hit like a ton of bricks today. Emotions and physical sensations may be overwhelming and exceptionally intense. Pluto God of the Underworld shows us the intensity of our deepest desires and conjunct the Moon causes our hearts to long for a different reality. The God of the Underworld exposes the darker sides of human experience and may even bubble up memories of trauma from the past. Please be gentle with yourself today and create space for the outlets and practices you need to process intense feelings like rage, despair, and grief.
Moon in Aquarius - February 17th 11:35 PM CST
Sometimes when painful memories resurface, the only way we can make it through is to detach from our emotional and physical bodies. There is no shame in any of the coping mechanisms we have adopted over the years to keep ourselves safe. As the intensity of the Moon Pluto conjunction overwhelms us, the Moon leaves Capricorn entering Aquarius the fixed air sign of the Zodiac to help us understand our emotions on an intellectual level. When the Moon is in an air sign, journaling, talking, or other forms of communication can serve as helpful tools to mentally process the experiences of our emotional and physical bodies.
Sun in Pisces - February 18th 4:35 PM CST
The Sun enters Pisces the mutable water and final sign of the Zodiac. Pisces is creative, intuitive, and empathic. As the final sign of the Zodiac, Pisces signifies the completion of a cycle and integration of the lessons we have learned. Pisces like the ocean is vast, deep, and complex. Reflect on your experiences and tap into your emotional states of the last year beginning with March 20, 2022, the Spring Equinox. Channel your reflections into creative outlets and make time to connect with your closest loved ones this Pisces season. Â Â
