Welcome to Mooncast a weekly forecast of the Moon’s journey through the cosmos. Why the Moon? She’s our closest celestial neighbor and most influenceable sphere in planetary magic. She corresponds with cycles of life-death-rebirth, and her phase, zodiac sign, and aspects are essential in electional astrology. Most of all, the lunar realm is nourishing and enchanting. Let us wade in.
Mooncast Week of November 20th ☾
Last week’s Mars Cazimi in Scorpio cracked me open and out poured generations of grief. My body is a river of ancestral wounds, and Mars brought on a flood. I mourned at my altar and sobbed in my partner’s arms. I grieved for my four year old self, my father, and my grandparents who are no longer with us. I felt the sorrow of my paternal lineage, and it overwhelmed my being.
The magic of Scorpio is a deep sea dive into the most tender, vulnerable parts of ourselves knowing the only way out is through. Healing is a spiralic journey, and I wander a labyrinth of ancestral grief. I am of the Pluto in Scorpio generation (those born November 1983 - November 1995). Pluto is the outermost (dwarf) planet in our solar system and represents depth, power, the subconscious, death, and rebirth from the ashes of the old. Pluto in Scorpio investigates and transforms hidden abuses, pains, and traumas of the past. I’ve heard astrologers refer to those of us born with this placement as the therapy generation.
My natal Pluto is in my 4th house of father, home, land, and ancestral lineage. This placement speaks to the breadth and depth of destructive forces passed on through my paternal line. For two years, I’ve dredged up generations of abuses and loss, and I no longer have a relationship with my father because of it. As the Mars Cazimi perfected within 1° of my natal Pluto, my ancestors held me through a rebirth. Two years of anger and resentment are transforming into forgiveness. I am making peace with my paternal line. I’m guided to remember the joyful memories of my childhood. Parties and family vacations with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins abound with laughter, games, and shared meals. As I emerge from the depths of the sea, I open myself to a new chapter of healing.
Moon in Aquarius
The Moon entered Aquarius November 18th 5:28 a.m. CST and waxed to her first quarter phase November 19th 3:32 p.m. CST. This week begins with the Moon in Aquarius making aspects to Mars and the Sun.
The first quarter Moon supports gaining momentum, strengthening foundations, clearing obstacles, and acts of magic to increase something. The Moon in Aquarius needs space and may detach from the emotional body prioritizing ration and logic over feelings. The Moon in Aquarius is nourished through analysis of systems, innovative ideas, and research rabbit holes.
Monday, November 20th
3:38 a.m. CST Moon 27° Aquarius square Mars 27° Scorpio
4:49 a.m. CST Moon 27° Aquarius square Sun 27° Scorpio
The Moon squares Mars and one hour later squares the Sun. Coming off the Mars Cazimi at 25° Scorpio on November 17th/18th, this feels like an assessment of the internal realm. What did Mars detonate, penetrate, or sever in the Scorpio realm of our charts? The Moon in Aquarius compiles a report of feelings, needs, and outcomes. Squares are tense and may activate anger, contention, and resentment. Space is needed to process.
Moon in Pisces

In the Jupiterian waters of Pisces, the Moon experiences heightened creativity, empathy, and imagination. Here, the Moon nourishes through compassion, dreaming, and idealism.

9:44 a.m. CST Moon conjunct Saturn 0° Pisces
10:20 p.m. CST Moon 8° Pisces sextile Jupiter rx 8° Taurus
I had a conversation with my friend @daniellereneeastrology (who is booking clients and I highly recommend a reading with her) about Saturn in Pisces. We talked about Saturn as discipline while Pisces dreams new worlds. On my journey of becoming an abolitionist, I’ve been challenged to radically reimagine a world without police and prisons. A world where punishment is archaic because everyone has the resources to thrive and nonviolent skills to resolve conflict. We have a long, winding road to this world, and it starts with the discipline to dream, imagine, and practice news ways of being.
With the Moon in Pisces, we may feel more attuned to our empathy. As the Moon conjoins Saturn, let us fortify our discipline to dream rather than restrict our capacity to feel. As the Moon sextiles Jupiter in Taurus, let us work with the resources we have to cultivate the world we desire.

Today is a day of mourning for many Indigenous people in the U.S. It’s a day for reflection, unlearning colonial beliefs, education, conversations with family, and redistribution to First Nations people. It’s important to understand the history of the land we live on. Who lived here prior to colonization? What happened to them? Where are they now? How did my ancestors arrive here? What is the land back movement? Who can I donate to? These are questions I’m contemplating this week, and I invite you to join me.
4:57 p.m. CST Moon 17° Aries opposite Venus 17° Libra
9:51 p.m. CST Moon 20° Aries trine Mercury 20° Sagittarius
The Moon and Venus are at odds. The Moon in Aries has tunnel vision on the needs of the self while Venus in Libra seeks to accommodate the desires of others. This opposition could manifest as tensions at the dinner table. The Moon trine Mercury is a spirited conversation about meaningful beliefs and the expansion of horizons as a result.

Podcast - Tales From the Hearth
I had the pleasure of being interviewed by my dear friends on their podcast Tales from the Hearth. I discussed why I launched my business and covered the basics of natal astrology. Our conversation is two parts, and the first episode Astro101 with Mystic Magnolia Astrology is out now. I hope you’ll listen and share with your besties! I’m a big fan of the podcast and encourage listening to more episodes. Thank you to Elair and Kristen for inviting me to the hearth!
Workshop - Manifesting with the Lunar Cycle
Mimi and I hosted our first Manifesting with the Lunar Cycle workshop this Saturday, and it was a joy! We discussed all things lunar and built a collective altar. We have one more rescheduled date on December 2nd. If you’re local to the Milwaukee area, I invite you to join us. The workshop is $40, and attendees receive a guidebook and ritual supplies to support their lunar practices.
Astrology Readings
I’m available virtually and in person for one-on-one astrology readings throughout November and December. The price for my 90 minute readings are $75. In January, I’m raising them to $90 to reflect my growth and the increased energy and labor I pour into my services. I’d love to connect over your natal chart or a forecast into your year-ahead. Book a reading here.
Thank you for reading Mooncast. May this offering attune us to the enchantment of the lunar cycle. See you next Moon day!
