Welcome to Mooncast, a weekly forecast of the Moon’s journey through the cosmos. Why the Moon? She’s our closest and most influenceable celestial neighbor mirroring cycles of life-death-rebirth. Her phase, zodiac sign, and aspects are essential in electional astrology and astromagic. Most of all, the lunar realm is nourishing and enchanting. Let’s wade in.
Mooncast Week of November 27th ☾
Welcome to Sagittarius season! I don’t know about you, but I feel lighter. I think of the transition from Scorpio to Sagittarius as Jupiter (ruler of Sag) sending us a lifeline to lift us out of the depths of the underworld. Sagittarius zooms everything way out, giving us a broader perspective to find meaning in the experiences of Scorpio season.
Sagittarius season is one of my favorite times of year because the Sun transits my fifth house of creativity, play, and pleasure. Inspiration strikes and creativity flows. Last year, during Sag season, I created this newsletter, and the first transit I wrote about was the Gemini full Moon. This week begins with another full Moon in Gemini, meaning it’s been one lunar year of Flower Moon. For that, I’m grateful. Whether you’ve been a subscriber since the beginning or recently joined, thank you for supporting my work.
Full Moon in Gemini
At 3:17 a.m. CST on November 27th the Moon at 4° 51’ Gemini opposes the Sun at 4° 51’ Sagittarius. Gemini is a curious collector of facts and disperser of information. Sagittarius is an adventurer with a generous spirit. Gemini craves variety, while Sagittarius craves meaning. This lunation is aspected by both malefics with a harsh square to Saturn at 0° 58’ Pisces and Mars at 2° 6’ Sagittarius conjunct the Sun and opposing the Moon.
Mars square Saturn is a clash between the God of War and Lord of Austerity. Saturn at their worst constructs border walls and enacts authoritarian rule. Mars at their worst dominates through violence and war. To the less extreme, Saturn is elders, discipline, longevity, and mastery, while Mars is drive, passion, and willpower.
Mars conjunct the Sun in Sagittarius ignites conflict or passion around political, philosophical, religious, or spiritual beliefs. The Moon in Gemini becomes overwhelmed by the intensity of Mars and Saturn. Gemini is mutable air of the mental and relational realms. This may be experienced as mental fatigue, depression or pessimism (Saturn), social anxiety/overstimulation, or interpersonal conflict (Mars). Look to the Gemini, Sagittarius, and Pisces houses in your natal chart for more context.
Something illuminates. This lunation is the midpoint of the November 13th Scorpio new Moon cycle and June 17th Gemini new Moon cycle. What is culminating? The monthly lunar cycle aligns with short-term shifts, and the year-long cycle aligns with longer-term changes. Again, look to the Gemini house of your natal chart for more clarity.

11:53 a.m. CST Moon 22° Gemini trine Venus 22° Libra
The Moon in Gemini trine Venus in Libra is easy-flowing emotional connection with others. This transit supports vulnerability in relationships, catching up with loved ones, creative collaboration, or finding inspiration. However, Venus nears the South Node, which drains her life force, making the Venusian less tangible than usual.
7:03 p.m. CST Moon 26° Gemini opposite Mercury 26° Sagittarius
Mercury in Sagittarius searches for answers to big questions, while the Moon in Gemini hones in on the details. Conversation or journaling are supportive outlets.
Moon in Cancer
The Moon returns home to Cancer November 29th 12:54 a.m. CST, wanes to the disseminating phase, and makes aspects to Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus.
In the cardinal waters of Cancer, the Moon is fully resourced to comfort, nourish, and intuit. Here, the Moon forms strong emotional bonds and cares for others. The Moon in Cancer is the best placement for electional astrology and planetary magic. However, we must look to her phase and aspects for further guidance.

Astrology Readings
I have extended December availability as I’m off work the last two weeks of the year (woohoo). This is the final month to book a natal chart or year-ahead reading at my current rate of $75. My prices increase to $90 on January 1st. Reach out with any questions, and book a reading here. Here are some recent testimonies from my amazing clients:
“My natal chart reading with Emily was so incredible and moving. Not only did she clearly show me how my placements (sign and house combination) manifest, but she also helped me understand how they work together. I feel like this was what blew me away about Emily's work. I have heard and can find plenty about each sign and each house and what they mean separately. The way that Emily can synthesize this information and help me understand how it is applicable and already manifests in my life was beautiful. The absolute clarity with which she read me simply from my birth chart was astounding. We had such a joyful time doing this reading, and I will continually be working with Emily, without a doubt. I cannot recommend her offerings enough.” - Elair
“Emily was amazing! Astrology is so dense, and Emily made the concepts easily digestible and seamlessly integrated the history of astrology and my natal chart. My session was extremely affirming, and I can't wait to have another reading for my birthday!” - Ameera
