Nourishing Astrology
reflective vs. predictive astrology, retrogrades & two new episodes of the Sol Connections podcast
The astrology of March is disruptive and loud, and we all feel it. I shy away from predictive astrology because I tend to project my fears of the unknown onto future astrological transits. Astrology nourishes me when I relate to it as a meaning-making system to root me in the present moment and to reflect upon the past. When I contemplate the experiences of my life and apply them to astrological cycles, I experience awe and wonder rather than anxiety and fear.
Collectively, we are experiencing Venus retrograde (March 1st - April 12th) in Aries and Pisces, and soon, Mercury joins the retrograde party (March 15th - April 7th) in the same signs. Retrogrades are moments to resist the forward motion of linear time and surrender to the spiralic nature of cyclical time. I am deep in Venus cycle research, reflecting upon the past eight years and the major events that coincided with previous Venus retrogrades. The synchronicities are mind-boggling, proving over and over again that astrology is real. Venus retrogrades are underworld journeys, and as Venus becomes invisible in the night sky, transitioning from Evening Star to Morning Star, patterns of love and loss emerge. I have many stories to share, but more on that later.
As these retrogrades veer us off the linear path, I invite you to cycle back a few weeks in time to reflect upon the themes of Aquarius season (January 19th - February 18th). The latest Sol Connections Astro Church sermon explores the archetypes and patterns of Aquarius season, the Knight of Cups, and the story of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys. Dani, Aryn, and I discuss the astrological influences shaping current events, including ethical considerations surrounding AI, the rise of the Big Tech Broligarchy, and Kendrick Lamar's powerful performance at the Super Bowl as an act of resistance.
Ep. 6 | Astro Church | No Captains, No Kings: Aquarius, Collective Vision & Subverting the Broligarchy out now:
As we reflect upon Aquarius season, we invite our community to ponder...
As we move through challenging times, how can we stay connected to our collective vision without falling into despair or illusion?
How can we build and nurture resilient communities that reflect our courage and resistance?
What role can we as individuals play in this collective transformation?
